IIT JEE Preparation strategies (Subject wise)
Physics Preparation is based on 4 important pillars.
Without any one of them, IIT-JEE would be a challenge.
Concept – Contrary to maths and chemistry, physics requires a very deep understanding of the subject. Questions in JEE Advanced are always based on very untouched or novel ideas that are not easily found in regular study materials or previous question papers. The only way to have a good hold on concepts is to practice, but not just any practice. A slow start, covering all the basics, and then a gradual inclination towards the serious concepts.
Challenge- You need to sit on a challenging question, sometimes for hours until you yourself find a solution to it. Obviously this requires an experienced mentor who knows a students limits and can guide him through the various stages of challenging questions. Not everyone can handle all kinds of questions, so you might get stuck on something much out of your league and precious time will be lost. So in short Don’t try this at home. It can only be done under a mentorship.
Practice- Just like Maths, this subject too requires at least 500 questions per chapter. Usually students just ask doubts or look for a solution after 1–2 attempts of a total of less than 5 minutes. In these cases, it has become easier to find solutions online and everything seems well and good until you fail in the real paper. The reason of failure is not doing smart work. Smart work means discovering solutions, not just knowing it. Coz that’s the kind of Exam you are fighting for.
Self-Evaluation- The right platform will allow you to evaluate yourself in the deepest sense.
……
Organic Chemistry takes some time to understand. But once you understand it thoroughly enough, 40% of the paper is done. In organic chemistry most important things to look at is, GOC, Isomerism, Reaction mechanism to start with followed by carbonyl compounds, bio molecules and polymers. These are some important chapters not to miss at all.
Once you complete organic chemistry, you can start giving your time towards Physical Chemistry as it can be done logically through formulae. Most important chapters to look for will be electrochemistry, colloids and thermodynamics.
Here for practicing organic and physical, whatever question bank you have for a given chapter do it in instalments with small gaps in between so that you are doing one chapter for a reasonably longer period which means things will be stored in long term memory.
Now most people ignore inorganic chemistry, saying it to be boring or difficult to memorise but if you ask me or for that matter any JEE qualifier, it’s an undoubted fact that inorganic is a very scoring section if you know precisely where to read from and how much to remember. When it comes to books one should go through
NCERT text books line by line, along with one’s own made class notes, followed by solving NCERT Exemplar and then one can go through previous Mains and advanced questions.
Tips to Crack IIT JEE 2022
VIGYAS Coaching – You can go for one-year coaching once you have decided to crack IIT JEE after class 12th. It is a well-planned program and it will help you to evaluate where you and your understanding lies and also guide you through the entire course work progressively and also in revising quickly.
If you take 1-year coaching, this will train you with your whole syllabus but relatively at a faster pace than the 2-year batch. Once you join Vigyas for coaching, you will be mentored and guided by experts and get advice from IIT alumni who will help you to get a head start. Get online assistance also for your studies.
Revision- As your examination preparation has only 1 year left; you will not have that much time for revision. Try to finish learning the chapters in 8 months and start the revision process after that. Time Management is also a core important part of preparation along with accuracy.
Different notebooks for theory and practical- Maintain various sets of notebooks for theory and practice; it will help you to revise better.
All the best with your preparation strategy for JEE!
These tips and tricks are tried and well tested by many students. If you follow them, no obstacle can stop you from achieving your goal. For more information and guidance related to the IIT JEE examination, contact VIGYAS.
